Root Canal What to Expect
Dr. Kaplan often reccomeneds a root canal to restore oral health and support long-term bite and jaw stability. Root canals are suitable for patients of all ages. Once the root canal treatment has been completed, most patients will be fitted with a custom dental crown for added support.
The root canal treatment is a routine procedure. Dr. Kaplan will create a small hole in the backside of the tooth. Through this hole, Dr. Kaplan removes the diseased inner pulp of the tooth. The tooth is cleaned and filled with a composite material called gutta percha and sealed shut with a dental filling.
Dr. Kaplan will work with patients to design a dental crown that will look and function like your natural tooth. The dental crown will be placed on the treated tooth and permanently bonded in place.
